IMA BODY: Dr D.S. Bhullar, a senior PCMS doctor, was installed as president of Patiala branch of Indian Medical Association at the annual general body meeting held here on Tuesday. Dr Vishal Chopra and Dr J.K. Kansal were nominated as honorary secretary and honorary secretary finance of the branch, respectively.

RALLY: On a call by the ‘Save Health Services Struggle Committee (Punjab)’, members of various wings of the health department organised a rally at the civil surgeon’s office here on Tuesday against the brutal lathi charge and registration of false cases on peaceful health employees at Hoshiarpur. About 200 employees from Rajindra Hospital, Mata Kaushalya Hospital, CHC Model Town and various city-based dispensaries participated. Mr H.S. Chahal district co-ordinator of the committee, addressed the rally. He said the employees would be staging demonstrations on May 7 and 14 at Bathinda and Lehragaga, respectively.

CHANDIGARH

Rally: Around 200 students of Government Model High School -II Sector 26, held a rally under the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. The rally was flagged off by B.B. Behl, state Congress president, Chandigarh on Tuesday.
