The Railways will run two special superfast trains from Amritsar and Chandigarh in an effort to cut down on the travel time and clear the extra rush of passengers.
While the first superfast train would run between Amritsar and Nanded, the second would be between Chandigarh and Lucknow.
The Amritsar-Nanded special train would run twice a week (October 16 and 21) from Amritsar at 1.40 pm and arrive at Nanded at 12.30 am on the third day. The Nanded-Amritsar train will depart on October 18 and 23 at 1.00 pm to arrive at Amritsar at 11.00 pm the next day. The special train will have stoppages at Purna, Akola, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra Cantt., Delhi Safdarjung, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar City.
The Chandigarh-Lucknow special train will depart from Chandigarh at 9.30 pm on October 15 to arrive at Lucknow at 9.10 am, the next day. The Lucknow-Chandigarh express will leave Lucknow on October 16 at 3.30 pm to arrive at Chandigarh at 3.00 am, the next day.
