Sarpanch killed in mishap: Sarpanch of village Fatehpur was killed while two other occupants sustained injuries in a road mishap. The car by which they were travelling collided with a Rajasthan Roadways bus on the Abohar-Hanumangarh road on Friday, sources said. A case has been registered against the driver of the bus that had been taken into custody.

2 killed in mishaps: Two persons have been killed and 11 others injured in road accidents across the Kashmir valley since Thursday. An SRTC truck hit Makhni Begum in Awantipora. She was rushed to hospital where she died. Ghulam Qadir Hajam (70), was hit by a train on Thursday while he was taking his sheep to graze near a railway track, Baramulla. He died on the spot

Annual plan for Bandipora okayed: The annual plan of Rs 55.51 crore for has been approved for Bandipora. The outlay was approved at a District Development Board meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for CA&PD and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon at the SKICC here Thursday. The plan comprises Rs 42.94 crore as the capital component and Rs 12.57 crore as the revenue component.
