Special Games from Nov 12: The 13th Special Games for the differently abled children of Punjab would jointly be organised by the Asha Deep Welfare Society and the District Special Olympics
Association at the local Police Lines ground from November 12 to 14.
According to a press release by the Asha Kiran Special School for Special Children, Jahan
Khelan, about 400 children from 33 schools of Punjab would participate in this three-day event.

PO arrested: The police nabbed a proclaimed offender, Manohar Singh, resident of
Kanwa, on Monday. According to the police, a case under Sections 24, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against him at Division 1 police station on July 19, 2005. He had been evading arrest for the past five years. He was produced before the Magistrate, who remanded him in judicial custody.

Body recovered from village pond: The body of a woman was recovered from the pond of Balion village. According to information, the woman was identified as Karamjit Kaur (40), a widow of the
village. The cause of her death could not be confirmed as yet, but some residents of the village were of the view that she was mentally upset and might have slipped in the village pond. The police is inquiring into the matter.
