MUMBAI, Aug 5 (PTI) — Shekhar Kapur, director of the internationally acclaimed film "Elizabeth", today said he would "respect the decision of the revision committee of the Censor Board" on some cuts it had suggested to enable the film’s release in India. "I know there are fairly knowledgeable people in the committee... If the board continues to believe the Indian mind to be far less mature than the rest of the world, I will bow to their greater wisdom and agree to an adults certificate", he told reporters. Kapur was responding to questions whether he was firm on his stand that he was against the film’s release with three major cuts suggested by the board.

Plea fails
LUCKNOW, Aug 5 (UNI) — The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today dismissed in limine the writ petition of the Akhil Bhartiya Loktantrik Congress Party by which it had demanded "kursi" as its election symbol for the Lok Sabha elections. The Division Bench comprising Mr Justice A.S. Gill and Mr Justice Bhanwar Singh of the Lucknow Bench of the high court dismissed the petition mainly on the ground that the Loktantrik Congress was not a recognised party. It, therefore, had no legal claim on the election symbol which was previously allotted to it.
