Ex-minister gets bail
PATIALA, Dec 21 (PTI) Former Congress Minister
Brij Bhupinder Singh, who is facing trial under the
Prevention of Corruption Act, has been ordered to be
released on furnishing a bail bond for Rs 20,000 and
sureties of like amount by Additional Sessions Judge B.C.
Rajput, here today. The former minister was recently
arrested in Chandigarh on the allegation that he had
indulged in unscrupulous practice in connection with
construction of an uplink road to the farm house of his
brother-in-law. Curfew

JAIPUR, Dec 21 (UNI) Mr Murlidhar Bohra, Rajasthan
state unit chief of the Shiv Sena, who was injured
yesterday in a clash between two groups over grazing of
cattle in Phalodi town, succumbed to injuries today, the
police said. The Jodhpur district administration imposed
curfew in the town to prevent any untoward incident,
tension mounted as soon as the news of the death of Mr
Bohra spread. Several people were injured when two groups
resorted to stone-pelting. To control the mob, the police
had fired tear gas shells and later resorted to
cane-charge.
