24 jawans hurt in accident
HOSHANGABAD (MP), June 27 (UNI) — Twentyfour soldiers, who were going to Kargil and Dras sectors, were injured when their bus fell into a gorge near Jhiria village in this district of Madhya Pradesh last evening. District Superintendent of Police Moolchand Bajaj said one of the soldiers was seriously injured and had been admitted to a Jabalpur hospital. Three jawans were admitted to a hospital in Pachmarhi. The bus rolled down a 15-feet gorge as its brakes failed while giving passage to a tanker. The bus had 52 soldiers on board.

Laloo re-elected
PATNA, June 27 (UNI) — Rashtriya Janata Dal President Laloo Prasad Yadav was today declared re-elected unopposed as the party chief. Returning Officer for the organisational elections and Bihar Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramchandra Purve made the announcement here after the scrutiny of the nomination papers.

88 human skulls found
PATNA, June 27 (PTI) — Eightyeight human skulls were seized at the Patna railway station today, Railway police officials said. They told PTI that the skulls were found in a polythene bag lying unclaimed in the room of ticket collectors. They said so far no arrests had been made, adding an investigation had been ordered into it.
