BEIJING, Jan 13 — The Communist Party’s control over spiritual reincarnations again came to the fore with the announcement yesterday of the discovery of a reincarnated “Living Buddha,” who in the 1930s played a key role in administering Tibet and the discovery of the incarnation of the present Dalai Lama.

Ms JayalalithaJaya discharged in Tansi case
CHENNAI, Jan 13 — AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister Jayalalitha was today discharged from the Tansi land deal case by the Madras High Court, which held that there was no evidence to send her to trial in what was perceived by the prosecution as the strongest case against her.
