Begin a search on your
desktop PEOPLE who spend lots of time searching for various newsgroup posts, images, news, Linux, stocks, Microsoft, answers or links on the Google website now need not access the site. This fortnight we feature a tool that does the search for you. It uses your Windows default browser for showing search results. You can easily customise the featured freeware to work with any other browser also. GGSearch v3.7 This software is not a product of`A0Google, nor is it related to it. This application only makes use of certain Google goodies. Once you have installed the downloaded file you can run GGSearch by clicking on the icon in the desktop or Quick Launch tray. It will open a small window that can be positioned wherever you want it to sit. You just type your search string in the window and click on Search. It will open the results in a new Explorer window. If you close the
SearchTool by clicking on the x button in the main window, it will
minimise itself to the system tray. The SearchTool can be closed by
clicking the menu-option Exit. A click on the tray icon minimises or
restores the main window. Right click on the tray icon pops up the
option menu. In the Main Screen Query field you can fill in any search
query you like. Tip: Use the ‘-’ (minus) symbol for things you don’t
want to show up. Example: freeware software -cnet -davecentral. This
shows the results of many Websites excluding the Cnet or Davecentral
Websites. You find more search parameters on the Google Website. It also
keeps a history of your latest searches. Feel free to disable this if
