Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: past 24-hour change: Maximum temperatures changed little.

Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.5C recorded at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24-hour change: Minimum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departrures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.4C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of 18th October 2003: Weather will be mainly dry over the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 18: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 34C and 17C, respectively.
