Rainfall:
Weather was mainly dry over the region.
Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.0C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan). Minimum temperatures fell in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Depatrures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.2C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 22: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
