More Sikhs are contesting on the
Indian National Congress ticket than any other party. The INC has
fielded seven Sikh candidates. In comparison, the Bharatiya Janata
Party has fielded one candidate and given four seats to its ally, the
Shiromani Akali Dal. The SAD candidates are contesting on the BJP
symbol.

rape of an eight-year-old girl in the Ashok Vihar area of North
district, the police today claimed to have arrested the alleged
rapist, Arvind Kumar alias Piloo (23), a resident of Bhajan Pura and a
barber by profession.

The Delhi High Court has issued
notices to the Central and Delhi governments and sought a report from
the CBI on allegations that some unscrupulous people were taking
employment on the basis of forged Schedule Tribe certificates from
Bihar.
