GNIMT spikers are PTU champs

Spikers of the local Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Model Town, won the Punjab Technical
University Inter-College Volley-ball Championship for Women held at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, on November 22 and 23. According to Dr A S Bansal, Director, GNIMT, in the final match, Ludhiana eves quelled a challenge from the hosts and the reigning champion, BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib, before emerging victorious. In the first set, Ludhiana girls gave some anxious moments before going down 25-28 but in the next set bounced back into the game, wrapping it up at 25-23. In the third game, the holders again fought it tooth and nail before losing 22-25. In the deciding game, GNIMT spikers out scored their opponents 27-25 and clinched the title. The Bhandhal College of Engineering and
Technology finished third in the meet. The GNIMT won the title for the second time. The team comprised Kirandeep Kaur, Mandeep Gill, Mandeep Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Inderjeet Kaur, Tamanna Soni and Silky Goomber of BCA-V and Navpreet Sidhu of MCA-III, Divya Kaur and Sarabjeet Kaur of MCA-V and Amandeep Kaur of BCA-I.
