Rainfall: Rain, snow occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) recorded 1 cm of precipitation.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh, rose appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, rose in East Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were below normal in Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 4C at Hindon (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 31: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in Uttar Pradesh.
