A seminar on dairy farming was organised by Animal Husbandry Department at Ghutind village near here on Wednesday. It was sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline Ltd. Mr Sandeep Hans Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Amloh was the chief guest. Farmers of the Amloh Subdivision participated.

Farmers condemn Milkfed
decision
Ludhiana, June 16
The Punjab Dairy Farmers Association has condemned the decision of Milkfed to slash the procurement price of milk.
Mr Daljit Singh, president of the association, said the decision was anti-farmer, illogical and contrary to the ground realities in the region. Alleging a nexus between bureaucrats and private milk plant owners, he said the prices had been lowered to benefit the latter.
Students harried as board sits
on results
Ludhiana, June 16
Students usually seem to be at the receiving end. Whether they are appearing for board examination or when it comes to the results of those exams. The question papers may be out of course or leaked and thus cancelled or the results are not declared on the stipulated dates. Like it happened with the students of the class XII examination conducted by the Punjab School Education Board yesterday.

A week-long AICTE-ISTE-sponsored Short-Term Training Programme got under way at the Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Gujarkahn Campus, Model Town, here on Monday. The main theme of the programme is ‘Emerging trends in financial services’. Participants, who are faculty in management and engineering colleges of a number of states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and the home state, are participating in the programme.

Summer camp in computer science, art and craft cum painting was organised by New Senior Secondary School, Sarabha Nagar from June 2 to June 16.
An exhibition was organised by students to display work done by them during the fortnight.
Students of the BCM school, Dugri Road, present a cultural programme on the concluding day of a summer camp on Tuesday.
