The Burning Brain Society, an NGO protesting against the glorification of tobacco products and inaction of the government in implementing the cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (prohibition of advertisement and regulation of trade & commerce, production, supply and distribution) Act, 2003
(COTPA) and also against the reinstitution of bravery awards in the name of a cigarette brand, announced shame awards for some government agencies.

Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti, who was speaking on the concluding day of a four-day Roohani Gurmat Samagam at Balongi village, near here, said supporters of persons like Gurbaksh Singh Kala Afghana and Joginder Singh, Editor of Spokesman, both of whom had been excommunicated from the panth, were still trying to misinterpret Gurbani.
