Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Punjab, at a few places in Haryana and west Rajasthan and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Guhla and thanesar 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Bangana and Dehragopipur 9 each, Baijnath and Dharamsala 8 each, Kangra and Sujanpurtira 7 each, Bhuntar and Nagrotasurian 6 each, Ghamroor 5, Barsar and Nadaun 4 each, Guler 3, Jhandutta, Kahu, Kasol, Nurpur and Pandoh 2 each and Rampurbushahar, Sunibhaji and Sundernagar 1 each, Punjab: Nangal 2 and Nawanshahar 1, East Rajasthan: Udaipur City 1, West Rajasthan: Churu 4, East Uttar Pradesh: Bhinga 2 and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 3 and Pantnagar 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Haryana and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were largely below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, appreciably below normal in Haryana, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. the highest temperature in the region was 34.7 C recorded at Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, rose in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and east Rajasthan, above normal in Punjab, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in Haryana and east Rajasthan, above normal in Punjab, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16 C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of Oct 6: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.
