Patiala boy, girl win tennis championship

Gitanjali Sharma and Tushar Sharma, both from Patiala became the women’s and men’s singles champion respectively in the Head Total Tennis Championship which concluded here today at YMCA, Sector 11.

SD College enter PU lawn tennis finals
Chandigarh, October 22
National tennis players Harsimran Kaur of GGD SD College, Sector 32 and Neha Singh of Chandigarh College of Architecture, Sector 10 helped their college teams in making it to the final of the Panjab University Inter College Lawn Tennis (Women) Tournament played here today at PU Campus grounds. In the first semi-final, GGD SD College, Sector 32 got the better of PU Campus 2-0 while CCA-10 defeated MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36 by 2-1.
Sanjay school in football final

Guru Nanak Public School, Modern School surge ahead

Guru Nanak Public School, Chandigarh, and Modern School, New Delhi, surged ahead in the under-14 boys' section of the CBSE North Zone I and II Tennis Tournament played at Mount Carmel School Tennis courts, Sector 47, here today. The matches in the under-19 section were also held.
Entry to DC’s office regulated

Two days after a clerk of the Estate Office was caught by the CBI for allegedly taking a bribe, entry to the Estate Office and also to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Sector 17 will now be regulated. Entry for members of the public will be allowed only between 12 noon and 1 p.m, said DC Arun Kumar. At all other times entry shall be banned.
Governor for roads of concrete

Chandigarh needs roads of concrete, UT Administrator Justice O.P. Verma said yesterday. He asked the Chief Engineer to prepare a conceptual plan in this regard.
