Cycle rally in aid of tsunami victims

Pak journalists given warm send off
Chandigarh, January 11
The delegation of Pakistani journalists that had been in the city for the past few days was given a formal send off today. The 56- member delegation led by Mr Arshad Ansari, President, Lahore Press Club, left for Amritsar from where they would cross over to Pakistan tomorrow afternoon. Before leaving for Lahore, the delegation would be visiting Golden Temple.

6-month-old baby abandoned at Bal Niketan
Panchkula, January 11
A six-month-old baby boy was today abandoned at Bal Niketan, Sector 2 — a home for destitute children. The Bal Niketan authorities found the child lying in the crib near the gate, and immediately took the baby to General Hospital for check-up. After informing the Sector 2 police station they took the possession of the child.

The SSP, Mr Gaurav Yadav, said today that the department would start micro-finance scheme for supporting youth and women economically. The entire stretch of road from Marauli Kalan village to Kajauli on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana road has been repaired. This road was full of pot holes.

Barbers attend awareness camp
