Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhang and Dhundhi 1 each and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.4C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 31: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warnings: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
