Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 42.2C recorded at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 20: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
