Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: East Rajasthan: Sawai Madhopur 3 and Udaipur AP 2, west Rajasthan: Churu 2, west Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 2 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in east Rajasthan, fell in west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly below normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 38.8C recorded at Allahabad and Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 2: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls are likely in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 2: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundry development/Light rain in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 37C.
