Directive on pension to retired UT staff
Chandigarh, June 28
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) today directed the Secretary, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, to pay pension benefits on the basis of notional pay fixed on the basis of the Punjab pattern to the UT employees, who retired between January 1986 and March 1991.
Traffic violators make hay during lunch hour

Habitual offenders in the city are giving two hoots to the traffic rules during the lunch hour daily without the fear of being fined for violations. For, a majority of traffic police personnel all over Chandigarh are absent from duty every day for an hour from 1 pm.

MLA pulls up officials for power, water cuts
Zirakpur, June 28
Mr Bir Davinder Singh, Kharar MLA, pulled up employees of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board and the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) for a major cut in power and water supply in Zirakpur and its surrounding areas on June 24.
MC directive to
parking contractors

The municipal corporation has asked the contractors to ensure that all the employees on duty at the sites for paid parking in the city are dressed in proper uniform. The contractors have been given the time till July 5 for compliance with the order.

Interviews for translators’ posts on

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct interviews and personality tests for recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators on July 12.
According to Mr Naresh Virdi, Deputy Regional Director of the SSC Regional Office here, call letters have been issued to the candidates who were successful in the test conducted on April 24 this year.
