CAT comes to aid of retired employee

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has come to the rescue of a retired employee of the Institute of Microbial Technology
(IMTECH) who had claimed interest on the amount of disability pension for a delay of seven years in release of the payment.
20-hour power for farm sector in Kandi area

The Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) is supplying power for 20 hours a day for the agriculture sector in the backward Kandi area of Ropar district, said Deputy Commissioner, Ropar, Mr H.I.S. Grewal, today during his interaction with the Chief Minister Punjab, through video-conferencing this morning.

Bank employees hold protest

Employees of the State Bank of Patiala posted at the local branches/offices held a demonstration in front of the main branch (Sector 17-C) at Chandigarh and demanded immediate acceptance of their demands, including holding of Welfare Committee meeting, recruitment of watch and ward staff and revocation of the
decision of the management to close 23 extension counters across the
country.
