A creative writing competition was held at A S College by the English Literary Society of the college here today.
Around 35 candidates took part in the contest. The Principal of the College, Dr R.S. Jhanji, praised the society for holding such a contest.

Camp on environment

The Subhas Chander Bose Troop of Scouts organised a “save the environment” camp under the Prime Minister Shield programme at Government Senior Secondary School, Kanganwal village, near here. Besides awakening students about the importance of hygienic environment, the organisers planted saplings in and around the school premises.

Teleconference at IGNOU centres

To address the induction meeting of undergraduate students of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), a teleconference would be organised at five centres in the state on September 17, according to Mr K.D. Parsad, Regional Director of the university for Punjab and Chandigarh.
