Rainfall: Rain and thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.4C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16.2C recorded at Ambala (Haryana).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 15: Rain/snow are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 15: Mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33C and 19C, respectively.
