Trees in Chandigarh will no longer remain ornamental embellishments and counterfoils to the ambient brick and concrete architecture of the city.

International Human Rights Day was observed by the Rayat and Bahra College of Education,
Sahauran, today as part of human rights week. Various activities were held throughout the week.

500 structures to be demolished

The Chandigarh Administration has identified 500 structures, in pocket no. 2, 7, 8, 9 and 11 in Mani Majra which would be demolished to make way for Town Hall.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the officials of Deputy Commissioner and
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation held here today.
Residents’ plea to Deputy Commissioner

The Peoples Voice Gods Voice, a welfare action group, has asked the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Brijendra Singh, to reject the resolution passed by the Municipal Council for making payments of all pending bills to park maintenance committees.
