Foreign varsities woo Indian students

With over 50 participants, the 34th India International Education Fair, which started at the CII today, has something more to offer than the usual MBA and engineering courses.

Chhatrapati murder case: CBI submits status report
Chandigarh, January 20
The Central Bureau of Investigation today submitted its status report on investigations into the alleged involvement of the management of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa in the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and Ranjit Singh, a former Dera inmate, to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Advocate awarded 3-year RI
Chandigarh, January 20
The Special Judicial Magistrate of the CBI, Punjab, in Patiala has sentenced an Amritsar-based advocate to three years of rigorous imprisonment in as many as nine cases for allegedly cheating over 50 persons by handing them over forged orders purported to have been passed by the Supreme Court to terminated employees in their favour.
Bank fraud: 3 in police remand
Chandigarh, January 20
A local court today remanded all the three accused, arrested by the Economic Offence Wing
of the UT Police in connection with the fraudulently crediting Rs 70 lakh in their companies account, to two days of police remand.
