Lawyer flees without paying for fuel, held

In a unique case, a Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyer today tried to flee after allegedly getting the petrol tank of his car filled at a Sector 34 petrol station without paying for the fuel.
Show-cause notices to 4 lawyers
Chandigarh, April 24
The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana is learnt to have issued show-cause notices to four advocates for allegedly violating the Bar Council rules.
According to information, a disciplinary committee of the council issued notices to Mr Amar Singh Chahal, Mr T.S. Sudan, Mr Arunjeev Singh Walia and Mr Arvind Thakur for having allegedly given money and material to Jagtar Singh Hawara and other accused in the Burail jailbreak case.
Advocates observe strike
Panchkula, April 24
Members of the District Bar Association observed a strike here today in protest against the alleged police inaction in a money-snatching case.
The advocates were demanding the arrest of accused who snatched Rs 8 lakh from two advocates, Arvind Sood and Amit Sood, in Sector 12 on April 2.
