Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm were: east Rajasthan: Udaipur 2, Bharatpur 1; east Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi 1; Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 2.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Punjab, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.2C, recorded at Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan and Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast valid until the morning of May 13: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorms or thunderstorms are likely in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 13: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Thundery development and squall are likely in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 40C.
