Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Kahu 5, Berthin 2 and Bangana 1, East Rajasthan: Rajakhera and Sarwar 5 each, Banera 3, Bhilwara and Hamirgarh 2 each and Asind, Sambhugarh, Sallopat and Sajangarh 1 each, West Rajasthan: Nilara and Osiya 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Chandradeepghat 6, Balrampur 5, Kanpur and Lucknow 3 each, Bani, Bahraich, Chhatnag and Neemsar 2 each and Bansi, Kakardharighat and Rai Bareilly 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Sarsawa 5 and Etawah 2 and Uttaranchal: Dehradun 3, Hardwar 2 and Uttarkashi 1. Monsoon clouds hover in region

Certain areas in Himachal Pradesh experienced rain as monsoon clouds hovered in the entire state and parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh today.Western disturbance lay over north-east Afghanistan and adjoining north Pakistan and upper-air cyclonic circulation over Himachal Pradesh and neighbourhood, extending up to 2.1 km above sea level. A fresh upper-air cyclonic circulation lay over central Pakistan and adjoining north-west Rajasthan and neighbourhood, extending up to 900 metres above sea level, according to the Weather Office here. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and a few places in Haryana and Punjab during the next 24 hours. Serval areas in Himachal Pradesh, including Sundernagar, Suni, Kasol and Gamroor, continued to receive rain since last night, bringing a considerable fall in the temperature. Pandoh recorded 3.5 mm, Nagrota Surian 1.5 mm and Kahu 49.5 mm rainfall till this morning.
