Ludhiana, September 6
Swimmers of Kundan Vidya Mandir School (KVM), Ludhiana, stamped their authority by clinching 19 medals, including nine gold, in the sixth Sahodaya Schools Complex Swimming Competition held at AS Modern School, Khanna.
According to Mr S.C. Saxena, Principal of the school, Vibhor Mundepi, a student of class XII, bagged three gold medals in the under-19 category in 50 m freestyle, 50 m breaststroke and 50 m butterfly events. Vibhor was adjudged the best swimmer of the meet.
Other medal winners from the school included: boys (under-19): Mohit Bhardwaj, 2 gold medals in 100 m freestyle and 100 m breaststroke; Advitya Ramdev, gold medal in 400 m freestyle and bronze medal in 200 m freestyle; Arush Bansal, bronze medal in 400 m freestyle; Shivam Makkar, silver medal in 500 m freestyle and bronze medal in 50 m backstroke.
Boys (under-17): Abhishek Vats, gold medals in 400 m freestyle and 200 m freestyle and bronze medal in 100 m breaststroke; Janesh Puri, bronze medal in 200 m freestyle.
Boys (under-14): Akshit Bawa, silver medal in 200 m freestyle and bronze medal in 100 m freestyle.
Boys (under-12): bronze medals in 100 m freestyle, 100 m backstroke and 50 m butterfly events.
