Animal husbandry can supplement incomes
Mandi Ahmedgarh, January 16
Dairy development officials here have called upon farmers of the area to persuade their wards to receive short-term training in animal husbandry sector, under the Dairy Udham Sikhlai scheme.
Talking to Ludhiana Tribune, after interacting with members of Samaj Bhalai Society at Sihar village near here, dairy development inspector (DDI) Balwinder Singh urged office-bearers of various social and educational organisations of Payal subdivision to generate awareness among people regarding the necessity of supplementing their agricultural incomes by adopting allied professions like animal husbandry and milk processing.

A lesson from ‘Taare Zameen Par’
Ludhiana, January 16
In an endeavour to motivate teachers, Kundan Vidya Mandir screened Aamir Khan’s flick ‘Taare Zameen Par’ in its auditorium here today. Principal S.C. Saxena said the movie comes with a message that a dyslexic child should not be relegated to solitary existence, but his or her problem should be identified and solved amicably. Vice-principal Navita Puri, Soriia Verma and A. Sebra, in-charges of middle and primary sections, along with other staff members also saw the show.

Prints of Sobha Singh's unpublished paintings released
Ludhiana, January 16
The department of fine arts, Ramgarhia Girls College, invited Dr S S Johl, renowned agriculture economist, to release the prints of hitherto unpublished paintings of Sobha Singh here today. Bibi Gurcharan Kaur, who takes care of the art gallery at Andretta in Himachal Pradesh and has devoted her life to renovation of Sobha Singh's works of art, was also present on the occasion.
Consumer forum quashes PSEB’s demand

The District Consumer Disputes redressal forum has quashed the demand of Rs 4,015 raised by Punjab State Electricity Board
(PSEB) to a consumer with the observation that the consumer was not joined during inspection.
