Killers hired to murder elder brother

A protracted property dispute ended in two men, both brothers, getting their elder sibling murdered by hired killers. With the arrest of the two suspects, Raj Kumar and Surinder Kumar, the police today claimed to have solved the murder of Joginder Pal, 43, a resident of the Jawahar Nagar camp area in July last year.

Two commit suicide in separate incidents

Two suicide cases were reported in different part of the city here today. In the first incident, a 28- year- old priest allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling hook in his elder brother’s house in Kitchlu Nagar here.

Now, regular cops to help ease city traffic
Ludhiana, February 19
Along with law enforcement and crime detection cops have a new task at hand. The city’s newly appointed police commissioner, Ishwar Singh, has instructed them to work together with traffic cops in easing the growing vehicular congestion at the city’s worst bottlenecks.

Travel agent booked for cheating

The Raikot police has booked a travel agent for cheating five youths of Rs 28 lakh luring to send them to US. Sarabjit Singh of Pherurahin village and Gurmukh Singh of Panjgrahian village had complained to the Raikot police that Dharam Singh, a travel agent from Barundi village near Raikot had cheated them. When the complainant approached the SSP Ludhiana Rural, Harinder Singh Chahal, he entrusted EO wing to investigate the matter
