Blood-donation camps today: The Youth Akali Dal and the Students’ Organisation of India, both front organisations of the SAD, have planned to celebrate the 49th birthday of SAD chief Sukhbir Badal by collecting more than 25,000 units of blood in a series of blood-donation camps at all district headquarters on July 9.
Entrepreneurship development programme: North India Technical Consultancy Organisation Limited
(NITCON) is going to organise an entrepreneurship development programme in Bathinda from July 16 at the District Employment Office. The programme will be of six-weeks and 25 candidates would be imparted training in fruit and vegetable processing.

Mango fest: The Hotel President will organise Monsoon and Mango Mania for 10 days starting from Thursday on wards. A press note issued by Amit Vij of the hotel said that the festival will be dedicated to mangos. Burglary: Some unidentified burglars struck a mobile phone shop and took away 12 mobiles sets, including six new mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs 20,000 at the local Satnampura locality late last night. According to reports, the shop owner noticed the theft early in the morning. Police has registered a case.
