Cong convention at Mohali: The Congress has chosen Mohali as the venue for holding its September 27 convention. MP Ravneet Singh on Sunday said the convention would be held soon after the election of the Congress president scheduled on September 17. Sonia Gandhi is heading for another term in office, he said. The MP said members of the CWC, Chief Ministers of the Congress-ruled states of Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan and senior party leaders of Punjab, UP, HP and J&K would participate in the convention.
Tributes paid to communist leader: Tributes were paid to senior communist leader Bhag Singh during a bhog ceremony here on Sunday. Lakhwinder Singh and his party performed a kirtan. Principal Kuldhir Singh had given information about the life of the leader. Rotrian Bhupiner Saine announced a free eye donation camp in the memory of the communist leader.
