Gurgaon, May 24
A 32-year-old woman has accused three men of allegedly abducting and gang-raping her in a Gurgaon farmhouse. The accused allegedly dumped her naked on a road after the assault.

The police, however, said phone records suggested the victim was in touch with one of the accused.

The victim, an employee of a private company, claimed she was taken away forcibly by the three men in an SUV (Toyota Fortuner) while she was purchasing medicines.

While the police have arrested two persons, they said call records suggested one of the accused Tejpal, a dairy owner, was in touch with her.

“This is not a case of stranger abducting a woman walking on the road,” said Joint Commissioner Vivek Sharma.

The police control room got a call about a woman lying on a road around midnight. A police team later found the victim in an inebriated state.

After being administered medical aid, the woman claimed she was purchasing medicines after work on the Sohna road when she was pulled into a car by three men. She alleged that she was taken to a farmhouse where the accused raped her and later dumped her on the Sohna road.

The victim was taken for a medical examination, which confirmed rape. Her statement was registered in front of a magistrate.

The victim later identified the farmhouse, where she was taken for identification. The police questioned the caretakers, which lead them to two accused — Tejpal; and Begi Singh, a property dealer. The third accused — Asha Ram, a lawyer — is at large. The police have registered a case of rape.

“We are probing the abduction charge but preliminary investigation negates the theory. The accused claimed they were in touch with her. We are verifying the evidence,” said Sharma.

The farmhouse belongs to a known figure of the area and the accused were his friends. Though the woman has not named the owner in her complaint, the police were probing his possible involvement in the case.

“There are many aspects that need to be looked into,” said Sharma.
