later, HC gives 17 PCS judicial officers their jobs back

The 12-year-old controversy
shrouding the appointment, termination and reinstatement of 31 PCS
(Judicial) officers has come to an end, with the Punjab and Haryana High
Court issuing the posting orders. In
all, posting orders have been issued to 17 officers. It is believed some
of the officers have during the period got selected elsewhere.

Amid an uproar over the "pat down" screening of Indian ambassador Meera Shankar at a US airport, Washington has reached out to her and promised to see what could be done to prevent such incidents."We obviously are concerned about it," US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Thursday as India reacted strongly to Shankar being pulled out of an airport security line for a pat down in Mississippi despite being told of her diplomatic status.
