Injured: Six persons, including two women, were injured in a road accident near Phaggu village in this district, on Sunday. According to sources, Hari Ram of same village was going to Budhlada with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and four other relatives to attend a condolence meeting when their jeep collided with another jeep near Phaggu village. Those injured were admitted to the civil hospital at mandi Kalanwali. Hansraj, who was seriously injured was shifted to the local civil hospital for treatment. The truck driver has absconded.

Assaulted: Ramlal (70), a farmer of Bppan village in the district was seriously injured when his son Bhimsain attacked him here on Sunday. He was shifted to the civil hospital for the treatment where his condition was stated to be serious. According to sources, cause of assault was an unequal distribution of agricultural land among his sons. Naresh Kumar, another son of Ramlal said his father had given four acres each of agricultural land to his four sons. Ramlal had been cultivating four acres of land by himself which Bhimsain had got transferred in his name by using bogus documents.

Attacked: Ms Bimla (40), of Bajekan village was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by her husband at her parental house, here on Sunday. According to sources, her husband Bhagwandass of Banali village in Fatehabad district was a habitual drinker. She had left her in-laws house as Bhagwandass had refused to avoid liquor. Mrs Kartari Devi, mother of the victim, said here on Monday, that Bimla had once again objected to his drinking as a results of which he had assaulted her with a weapon.

Health centre: Mr Ajay Singh Chautala, president, Haryana Olympic Sangh, inaugurated a primary health centre at Jootanwali village here on Sunday. He said the building of the PHC had been constructed at the cost of Rs 30 lakh and 45,000 people of more than 12 villages would benefit from it. He further said two doctors had been posted in the health centre.

Honoured:Students and 10 teachers were honoured at a function organised on the premises of Government Senior Secondary School at Bidhlan village,about 15 km from here on Sunday. Mr Sudhir Rajpal,Deputy Commissioner,gave away the prizes.

Coaching camp:The following have been elected office-bearers of the Himachal Pradesh Coaching Welfare Association(Education Department):president-Mr Kuldeep Rana; vice-president-Mr Shyam Lal Sharma; general secretary-Mr Deepak Sharma; joint secretary-Mr Sita Ram Jasta; and treasurer-Mr Sunil Kumar.

Daily wagers: The Chief Engineer of the Shahnehar Project in Jawali subdivision was reportedly gheraod by the striking daily wagers at Sihal in Fatehpur block here on Thursday. According to the information as many as 200 daily wage employees of the project has been agitating for the past 16 days in protest against the indefinite service break being given to them by the project authorities. They have also been resorting to hunger strike by sitting in front of the office of the Executive Engineer of the project. The Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh leaders, Mr Madan Rana and Mr Gagan Pathania, in a statement issued here had warned to lock the project offices if the demands of the strikers was not accepted by December.
