acres of land between Kambali and Jagatpura
villages was ploughed with tractors by the
enforcement staff of the Punjab Urban Planning
and Development Authority in a major operation

Ravi withdraws suit on SADs
undertaking

Dec 6 On a statement by counsel for the Shiromani
Akali Dal and other defendants undertaking that action
against a Punjab Legislative Assembly member, Mr Ravi
Inder Singh, would be taken as per the provisions of the
partys constitution by the working
committee, the plaintiff today withdrew the civil
suit, challenging the validity of a show cause notice
issued to him.

has admitted a criminal contempt petition against

Managing Director and an Executive Director of the Punjab
Wireless Systems in connection with a two-week old case
registered against them for not depositing the provident
fund of employees with the Provident Fund Commissioner.

Dec 6 Holding a Sector 18 firm and its two
partners guilty of concealing income,the UT Chief
Judicial Magistrate, Mr Sant Parkash, has sentenced them
to three months' rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing
a total fine of Rs 8,000 under the Income Tax Act.
