on forged papers

CHANDIGARH, Dec 8
A case of cheating has been registered against four city
residents who allegedly sold a housing board unit on the
basis of forged documents.
According to police
sources, Rita of Maloya Colony moved a petition in the
court of Mr Jasbir Singh, JMIC, alleging that Ram Asre, a
resident of Sector 47, Balbir Singh of Sector 37 and
Veena and Kishan, residents of the same colony prepared
forged documents and sold the house to her for Rs 66,000
in October, 1997.
She came to know that
the allotment of the house, originally allotted to Ram
Asre, had been cancelled as he had failed to pay the
installments. He then allegedly conspired with the others
and got fake documents prepared stating that all
installments had been paid and that the allotment was
genuine.
When she came to know
about it, she asked the accused to return the money,
built despite repeated requests, they failed to do so.
She then moved an application in the court which directed
the police to register a case and investigate the matter.
A case under Sections
420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B, IPC, has been registered at
the Sector 39 police station.
Car set ablaze: Mr
Ravinder Singh Pali, cable operator and resident of
Sector 27, has reported that four persons set his car
afire when it was parked in the Sector 27-D market late
last night.
According to the
complainant, Panchkula resident Jaswinder Singh alias
Jassa, Lucky Chopra, a resident of Sector 44, besides
Ravinder Garcha and Bajwa, residents of Sector 27,
reportedly nursed a grudge against his business partner.
When they could not trace him, they came across his brand
new Esteem car and set it ablaze at about 11.30 p.m.
He has also alleged that
the same persons set afire his cable network office in
Sector 5 of Panchkula, damaging equipment worth Rs 6 lakh
earlier the same evening. A case under Section 435, IPC,
has been registered at the Sector 26 police station while
a case under Section 436, IPC, was registered at
Panchkula.
Bag stolen: Mr
Taslim Ahmad of Mauli Jagran has reported that Shahjad, a
resident of Bijnaour, has stolen a bag containing Rs
7,000, a gold chain, a gold ring and silver anklets from
his residence during daytime. It was alleged that the
accused was known to him and had committed the theft when
he was asleep.
A case under Section
380, IPC, has been registered at the Mani Majra police
station.
2 gamblers held:
The police has arrested two persons for gambling
at a public place.
While Bhawani Dutt of
Sector 28 was arrested from the same sector Ashok Kumar
was arrested from Sector 26.
Cases under Sections
13-A, 3 and 67 of the Gambling Act have been registered.
3 burglaries: As
many as three burglaries have been reported from Sector
44.
Mr H.L. Dua, who was out
of town for a few days, reported that someone had broken
into his house and decamped with jewellery andRs 15, 000
in cash.
A working couple, Mr and
Mrs Rajiv Sharma, reported that some one had broken into
their house in the afternoon and decamped with four gold
bangles, a necklace, earrings and silver ornaments,
besides Rs 12, 000 in cash.
In another incident,
thieves scaled the back wall of a house and ripped out
the doors before ransacking the house. The thieves
decamped with gold jewellery and other household items
while the owners was out of town for a few days.
Separate cases under
Section 380, IPC, have been registered.
