Dreaming of wages

THE issue of wages is something that touches most people, be it the ones receiving the wages or the ones giving the wages. Both categories of people are never satisfied. Thus the occurrence of such a disturbing theme in dream is not rare.

As per Indians thought, should you dream that you are getting wages in return for the labour that you have put in and the amount paid is less than what you deserve then be prepared for a change in your job. You are, in all possibility, about to get a better offer with a higher salary and better position. But should you dream that you are getting higher wages than what think you deserve, then it is a bad dream as it foretells the loss of a job.

As per western thought, if you dream of yourself receiving wages, then it foretells that unexpected fortune will come your way in the form of a new enterprise. To pay out wages means that you shall encounter dissatisfaction. To dream of a reduction in your wages warns you that you are attracting the attention of an enemy. An increase in wages predicts unusual profits in any venture you undertake.

As wages are normally paid for a job done, then, psychologically speaking, receiving good wages represents a good job done by us, and vice-versa. To dream of yourself paying someone wages means that you owe that person something that you have either overlooked or knowingly not given. This dream serves as wake-up call to your conscience. Not receiving any wage for something you have done means that either you are nurturing regret at not having received what you consider your rightful reward for the hard work you have done, or it could be a reminder to you to not expect any wages under the prevailing circumstances. Wage, as such, need not only mean money, it can stand for any form of reward. It stands for compensation for an act done.

A man often dreamt that he would not get wages from his boss at the end of the month and he would have to borrow from his friends. This dream symbolises the dissatisfaction in the man's mind regarding the sum he is receiving as his wage and also his sense of insecurity regarding his job. Dreaming of borrowing from his friends symbolises his fear of being unable to meet his expenses from the wages that he earns.
