Safety awareness
programme held
SAS Nagar, June 12
A safety awareness programme was organised by the local police in Phase VIII here today.
Under the programme reflectors were got fixed on a large number of vehicles like
autorickshaws, tractor- trailers, school buses, trucks and rickshaws. This was being done under the
instructions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Mr R.C.Vaish, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Chandigarh, in a press note issued here today informed that the telephone connections of those subscribers who have failed to make payments for bills issued on April 19, would be disconnected on June 17.
Religious fervour marks nagar kirtan

Devotees marched through city streets during the nagar kirtan held today to observe the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev.
The procession started from Ram Darbar, Phase I, and concluded at Sector 23 gurdwara after passing through Tribune
Chowk, Sector 29 market, Sector 30, Sector 28, Sector 27, Sector 20 ,Sector 21and Sector 22.

Plot holders resent PUDA’s decision

A number of plot allottees, who were issued completion certificates by the estate office of the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority
in December 2000, have expressed resentment over the decision of the authorities to charge extension fee from the plot holders without examining each case.
Dr Virat Dhir is no more

Dr Virat Chand Dhir, the city’s oldest and perhaps seniormost and most respected consultant in dentistry, died at Fortis Institute following an unsuccessful heart surgery this afternoon. He was 66.
