Murder of Beant Singh’s kin; nine members of gang held

Market parking contractor overcharging

Even as the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, has fixed a particular amount as parking fee for parking lots in Feroze Gandhi Market here, a contractor, who is also a Congress leader is accused of overcharging the residents.

High onion prices reduce demand

City residents have found an effective way to combat the rising onion prices by reducing its consumption. Its demand has witnessed a decline of more than 60 per cent within a few days, which is likely to play a key role in controlling any further rise in prices.

Sufficient kerosene, claim depot holders

The Federation of Punjab Ration Depot Holders has claimed that the availability of kerosene in the city was satisfactory and there was no shortage of fuel for the ration card holders. It has, however, urged the government to enhance the entitlement of SC and BC ration card holders from the present three litres kerosene per month to five time litres.

Funds for sewerage system in Amloh
