Minister stops tehsildar’s transfer

All set for paddy purchase from Oct 1
Ludhiana, August 28
The Punjab Government has made all arrangements for the procurement of paddy notwithstanding the fact that the official purchase of paddy would start by October 1. Paddy would start arriving in the mandis from middle of next month.

Preparations for photo-ID cards complete

Claiming to have completed all preparations for issuing photo identity cards to voters of the Sherpur and Malerkotla Assembly constituencies, Dr Indu, Malerkotla SDM, said no significant change was recorded in the electorate of these constituencies.

ADC assures justice to jobless teachers

Murderer gets life term

The Sessions Judge, Mr Harbans Lal, has sentenced Dharm Dass, aged 44 and hailing from UP, to rigorous life imprisonment on the charges of murdering a labourer, Prashad, in March, 2001, due to enmity.

Mandira to draw eves to ‘gully cricket’
