Temperatures rise in west Rajasthan

Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Basti, Sultanpur and Varanasi City (east Uttar Pradesh) recorded 1 cm of rainfall each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in west Rajasthan, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and change little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.1C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 19.4C recorded at Chandigarh.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 6: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 6: Mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 36C and 21C respectively.
