Keeping in view the reconstitution of Assemblies following delimitation, the Punjab government has announced the reorganisation of all blocks and tehsils in the state.

Nod to 1200 MW plant at Rajpura

In a major initiative to make Punjab power surplus state, the Punjab Cabinet today gave its approval in principle for setting up a 1200 mw power thermal plant at Rajpura. The work on the project is likely to be inaugurated on December 8.

Bir Devinder Singh Challenging Congress general secretary Ambika Soni’s possible claim to the Anandpur Sahib parliamentary seat, former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Bir Devinder Singh has apprised the AICC chief that he is a “better suited candidate for the seat”. The former Kharar MLA is learnt to have written to Sonia in this regard.
