Central team completes Ayurvedic hospital inspection
:A three-member team of Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), consisting of Dr PC Chaudhary, Dr Anil Verma and Dr Subhash Chand Verma from Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Patna, completed the inspection of Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital today. It will submit its report to the CCIM within the next two days. The team checked official records and medicines stock. It interacted with students and teachers on the concluding day to evaluate the college's overall functioning.



7 medals for city team in tae kwon do
: In the 24th North Zone and All-India Invitational Tae Kwon Do Championship, the local team won four gold and three silver medals. Divtia Jain, Riya Jain, Vaibhav Sharma and Uadiyash veer Singh won the gold medals while Dinesh Resmi, Yadwinder Singh and Rajesh Bhardwaj bagged the silver medals.

Selection for cricket team on June 7: The Chandigarh Cricket Association will hold trials to select local women’s cricket team on June 7 at the cricket ground of Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36 . Players born on or after January 1, 1994 will be eligible to participate in the trials.

Tennis tourney
: The Total Tennis Academy will organise the 3rd tennis tournament of the Total Tennis Championship Circuit at Manav Mangal Smart School, Sector 64, later this week.The interested players can contact Rakesh Hooda (9781707026) before June 6(6 pm).



One killed in mishap
: Dalel Singh, a resident of Lohar Majra, was killed on the spot when a car hit his bicycle near Lohar Majra, 8 km from here, on Sunday evening. The police has registered a case.

Two held under NDPS Act: The police arrested two persons under the NDPS Act for allegedly possessing 45 gm of smack on Sunday evening. The police said Sukhvinder Singh, a resident of Perhaladpur, and Prem Chand, a resident of Thanesar, were arrested near Indri Chowk, Ladwa, along with their motorcycle for possessing smack. Both of them confessed their crime. The police also seized 18 mobile sets and an LCD from them, besides their motorcycle. Both were remanded in judicial custody by a court yesterday.
