Eight booked for fraud

The city police have booked eight persons, including a woman and three bank officials, for conniving with property dealers for getting a loan of Rs 60 lakh on the basis of fake land documents.

19 more test positive for dengue

Kawalpreet Kaur with her overall trophy City swimmer proves her mettle

Once again, Kawalpreet Kaur, swimmer from the city, proved her mettle by clinching two medals in the All-India Inter-varsity Swimming Championship held from October 25 to 29 at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Kawalpreet clinched bronze medals in the 100m butterfly and 50m butterfly events. Earlier, Kawalpreet won the overall trophy of Panjab University by winning 16 gold medals in the Inter-College Swimming Championship of Panjab University.
