Arms, ammunition seized: The police on Tuesday seized an AK-47 rifle with 24 live cartridges and a .9 MM pistol during a raid at Balwant Singh's house at Rawla Mandi in Sriganganagar. Superintendent of Police (SP) Hari Prasad Sharma said Balwant (35) was earlier arrested in 2006 under the Arms Act. Sources said Balwant had told the police that he had brought the weapons about two years back from his sister, who lives in Punjab. The claim will be probed by a special team that has been rushed to Rawla. Balwant, however, has not revealed why the weapons were brought from Punjab.Blood donation camp:

The police have booked three members of a family for allegedly duping a man of Rs 1.2 crore on the pretext of selling him a filling station. The complainant, Jarnail Singh of Bahar-Majara village, alleged the accused, Sukhwinder Singh, his wife Rajwant Kaur and son Gurmehar Singh of local New Model Town, took money from him, but sold their property to a third person.
